This original acrylic painting is one of the latest artworks of the talented contemporary Bulgarian professional artist Nikola Gulev. It is about the fragile presence of goodness in a world marked by traces, memories and inevitable pain. The female image is presented in a moment of beautiful closeness with the white dove, a symbol of purity, hope and freedom. In contrast to the tenderness of the bird stands the prickly nest, a kind of sign of the experience, of the wounds and the protections that a person builds around himself. At other hand, the cat has an intuitive character, it seems to feel things that a person cannot. The woman, the bird, the cat and the empty nest belong to a story, the beginning and the end of which remain hidden. "Tenderness among thorns" speaks of our ability to preserve the tender, without forgetting that the world has its thorns.
