The Stone - as a voice, as a memory, as an opportunity for transformation.

In the exhibition "Stone Speaks", the established Bulgarian sculptor Ognyan Chitakov unfolds the philosophy of format through an impactful series of world sculptures. The project is part of the program of the online platform and gallery Integrated Artists Gallery, which has been working towards presenting contemporary Bulgarian art in an international context since 2016. The artist's collaboration with the gallery opens up new horizons for his creative development – from participation in international online art platforms to stylistic and thematic expansion of his means of expression. His works gain new strength by combining a deeply rooted sculptural tradition with the languages of modernism, minimalism, postmodernism and abstract expressionism.

"Stone Speaks" is a field for dialogue between tradition and innovation. By processing different types of stone – marble, limestone, granite, andesite, basalt, gabbro, etc. – Chitakov builds abstract-expressive and highly impactful forms in which the rhythm of the earth and the breath of time can be felt. He becomes a mediator of different styles in the history of art, refracting through his personal artistic style and transforming the raw material into a carrier of emotions, inner states and social suggestions. Sculpt for him with visual voices – both delicate and monumental, contemplative and powerfully expressive. They reflect their understanding of art as a transcendental cruel, which not only touches the past, but also tells it anew for the entire viewer.
